What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we need the date, an explanation of the type of event they are hosting, what their expectations are and how they want the event and theme to run in order to WOW their guests. An approximate number of guests will help, especially if they are hiring the IGLOO. An idea of budget would really help as well as I have such a huge variety of props that can be adapted to a variety of themed events. I also offer a package where the more you hire the higher the discount my customer's gain.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice would be to take a look at the supplier's social media and website. Take a look at their past jobs and the kind of work that they can provide to see if this is to the customer's liking. Keep an eye out on their regular stories; see if the supplier is up on the latest trends and fashions. You don't want to end up with a supplier who isn't ahead of their game and is a bit "last year"!! find a supplier who is like-minded, they should want to get to know you and your ideas about your forthcoming event. Your supplier should enthuse about your event and want to provide the very best for you. At Flutes and Flair I very often through in a freebie, such as the donut wall or provide the extra size in igloo, just so I can go that extra mile for my customer. After all, when you're planning an event it's all about sharing THE LOVE!!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Flutes and Flair was started up the Autumn before the first Lockdown, I went for an interview with an events and thought I could do this but so much better!! I have three sons with drive and muscles who were looking for regular pocket money, so it was a no brainer for me. I was originally based in Interior design, so although we started off with the igloos, it wasn't long before my venue dressing skills were spotted and customers started to request my artistic advice. My sons are the 'braun' and I am the 'creative one'......
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
My first ever booking was a 50th Birthday Party. I provided them with two igloos in their back garden during lockdown for their family. One igloo was dressed in a 'chic boho picnic theme' and the other was dressed with a casino night. I also provided huge balloon displays throughout their property. I started setting up at 11am and stayed until 5pm when the customer was completely happy and had several staff on site to assist with the birthday preparations. They even booked my sons to serve drinks behind their bar. Like everyone else, they wanted a pick-me-up after the long months of the first Lockdown and to make the most of an excuse to PARTY!!
