What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We provide bespoke proposals for our customers so in order for us to provide a thorough and accurate quote, we need as much information as possible. This includes the event date, the service they require from us, the type of event they are hosting, along with the number of guests and rough event timings.
From this, we delve deeper into the details, such as any preferences on colour schemes or themes, catering requirements and a rough budget for us to work towards. Customers are often reluctant or wary to share their budget with us but we reassure them that it is simply to get an idea of whether their enquiry can be achieved in their budget. We can then offer alternative, more affordable solutions if necessary.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If roles were reversed, and we were looking for event providers, we would firstly search for smaller, more local suppliers in our area. Not only is it great to support these businesses, it may reduce the delivery costs as they have much less distance to travel.
We would also check out their reviews to see what other customer's experiences have been like. We would then ask the supplier any questions or queries we have. This is so important to iron out any concerns before parting with hard earned cash! Their responsiveness and the answers they provide, will give an insight into the type of supplier they are!
Lastly, we would check the boring, but all important things. Do they have the suitable public liability insurance/ hygiene certificates etc.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We have both worked in events at various prestigious venues for over 15 years combined, and we are very much still involved in the industry today. It was the love of events, creativity and customer service that led to the start of Home Time Events Ltd. We are extremely proud of our business and we are continually seeking ways to improve on our offering and service.
We love meeting people and seeing the smiles that our event services bring to their faces! Whether that is through hiring our igloos, gazebos and event equipment, or using our event planning services. We aim to help our customers create memorable experiences and this ethos is at the heart of what we do!
From working in events, we have seen first hand the unsustainable nature of the industry so it was important for us to always have sustainable practices at the forefront of our mind. We currently plant a tree for every booking we receive and we have adapted our processes to avoid unnecessary waste. These things are only small and we have a long way to go but we always consider the environment when building on our business.

Add to Event is the best platform we advertise on! We receive frequent, wonderful requests and the credit system means customers are only receiving quotes from suppliers that are available and dedicated to their event enquiry.
Every booking we have received so far on Add to Event has been an absolute delight! One that springs to mind, it a lovely local family who wanted to make their daughters birthday extra special, so they hired our movie igloo package. They were so kind and grateful for our service and very supportive of our small business. They have since enquired for their son's birthday. It is so wonderful to receive repeat business, we love to see our customers again!
