What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

When providing a quote to the customer we require the date of the event or party including the time. It is helpful to have the location and whether it is an outside or inside event. A guide of the number of guests and age group are helpful along with a potential theme or wish list. This helps us decide the best options for you from our vast range of equipment.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would recommend you use a professional company whose inflatables are PIPA registered to ensure compliance with the industry regulations. The company hiring the inflatable should be willing to show proof of this. We are also trained to RPII standard for operating and hiring out Bouncy Castle and other equipment this ensures you are using a responsible person. Ensure the company you are using has the relevant insurance in place too.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our business Seashells Softplay and Inflatables started because when our children were young there were limited party options available in our area and we saw a gap in the market. We were unable to hire Softplay in our area so this started as our main focus area and we have grown from there. We now have a wide range of Softplay, Inflatables, slides and equipment to suit party, wedding and events requirements and the business is growing year on year. Last year we also began to supply Sleepover parties to our customers which have proved popular and been a great addition to our business.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have secured one booking and hopefully, we will see future bookings from this. I find a lot of individuals either just don't respond or want a cheap party from this industry. The party planners often provide very little information which can make it difficult. Hopefully, this platform will lead us to some quality bookings.
