What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we would need to know the following details, a brief description of the type of event you are holding, venue address, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event, the products you wish to hire, date of the event you are holding, depending on what products you are hiring from ourselves we sometimes need to know if there is access to your garden via a garden gate and if there is access to a power point either outside or via an open window.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, ask them if they have liability insurance, if you are holding your event in a venue then the venue will usually need to see proof of their insurance, our lights are battery-operated, this gives you the freedom to move them to anywhere you would like them without needing a power supply and also do not need to be PAT tested, but most companies use plugins so you will need to know if they are PAT tested, ask them what is included, some mobile bars come with nothing but the structure, ours come with glasses, a fridge and accessories.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Hollywood Lights was started by my partner and me, we got engaged and started looking around at wedding fair's and we were disappointed in the quality of products that were out there, so we decided we could do better ourselves, my partner is a time served joiner so all of our products are made by us, this way we can keep them looking brand new and do any repairs that are needed. We take pride in knowing that every one of our customers is getting the best possible experience with our products because if you are hosting an event you want the best and with us, the best is what you get.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is an amazing platform for both suppliers and customers, we have quite a few bookings coming up with them and have only been a part of Add to Event for a short time, Our most recent booking was for our giant letters spelling out "GRAD" for a graduation party, it was an absolutely amazing event and our letters looked amazing and went down a storm, we got more bookings from the back of this one event. We recommend Add to Event to all our clients if there is an event we can not do either because we are fully booked or we do not do what the customer is after. There will always be a supplier on here you can find that does.
