What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need to know the following: Event location, Event Date/s, Event Start and finish times, Access times
Expected attendance, Content of what is to be on the stage.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Try and make sure that what equipment is being quoted is on a like for like basis. Talk to your supplier over the phone and make sure that your supplier is experienced in what you require. Make sure you use a supplier that is fully insured and provides all the correct paperwork with their products such as risk assessments, Method Statements, sign off certificates and qualifications to name but a few.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My passion has always been live music and I played in many bands when I was younger and invested in P.A and Lighting equipment and soon realised I had much more fun controlling the sound for others than actually playing myself (probably because I wasn't a very good musician!). Eclipse Sound and Light was born in 2003 and initially mainly provided wedding entertainment/services. Eclipse has grown into a one-stop hire company for all Staging, Sound, Lighting, Video, power and event production needs. Eclipse is constantly evolving and updating its hire stock year on year.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We offered a hire for backline equipment. It was a drum kit and a guitar amplifier. We posted our quotation and the customer accepted through the add-to system and we then spoke over the phone to arrange the details. The customer was very happy with the service we provided and has since used us 4 more times. We have had multiple bookings through Add to Event and unfortunately due to COVID 19, many have now been cancelled but hope things will be back on track soon.
