What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, so we know if its a peak date or not and also our availability. The type of event, particularly if its corporate event the format of the evening. Ideally for weddings an idea of the plans for the event. Also, the number of guests is very important as this can also affect the time that we are required to perform.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for a professional. There are many performers out there that are not full-time entertainers. Not only may this affect the quality of the performance that you may receive but also they may not have full public liability insurance in case anything goes wrong.
Have a look at the photos and their website. Is that supplier presented in a way which will suitably fit with your guests and environment? Also, look past the foregrounds and look at the background to work out where those photos were taken. Are they taken in a social club or down the pub or does this supplier regularly work in exclusive top end venues which may be a reflection of the quality of service they provide.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started performing after graduating from the University of Birmingham. During my time as a Postgrad and working as a research associate my learning ground was many of the student events on campus. Since then I have specialised in the corporate entertainment industry and have worked on entertainment teams for many large VIP and corporate events. I have created many of my own tricks and I am a member of The Magic Circle. These days there is definitely still a huge gap in the market for premium quality entertainment for corporate events, it's my desire to make sure every event that I work out will experience something truly amazing in the most entertaining and fun way!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have performed at over 2000 events in my career. Everyone is different but part of being a professional is about being prepared for every event and the ability to make it amazing.
