What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote, ideally we need to know the precise dates of your event including setup, event live date and de-rig start time and date. We need the postcode for your event and some detail about your access to the site, including if there are restrictions on working start and finish times. we need to know the rough number of people and if you have any additional needs including furniture hire and heating or catering. As soon as we know these details we can provide a much more accurate quote which will hopefully serve your event perfectly. Thank you very much!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise you to have a thorough conversation with the supplier and really get a feeling for their expertise and trustworthiness. I would recommend hiring someone polite who is interested in your event, as this will ensure a better experience from setup right the way through to completion, with polite staff attending your venue and your event is well reflected in the polite and professional company which you have chosen to engage with. Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Community Canvas started as a development of our touring events company, which toured arts events to festivals and community venues across the UK. We realised that with reducing arts funding in the UK there was a need for arts organisations to develop sustainable ways of generating the money they need to make their work. We have developed our expertise as a touring production company and invested heavily in marquees, event equipment, heaters, furniture, flooring and added this to our staging and lighting stock to offer a comprehensive and professional event production service, which we combine with our extensive logistics and touring experience. In addition to all of this, we have a huge roster of performers and artists including circus disciplines, performance art, music and theatre who can combine with your event to provide a complete experience for your event.
