What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Ideally for us to provide an accurate quote we would like to know the date, amount of people attending, where the event is located and the idea of the budget is always beneficial. If they are after a cash bar, dry hire bar or a pre-paid bar. It would be good to know any access issues to the venue and sort of what thing they are ideally after. A lot of events have a clear idea of the exact unit they want which is always good to know.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I think the best thing is to give as much indication as to what you are after and also ask what is included in the quote you receive, don't assume that you will get glass hire included in a cost or an extra member of staff to do x,y and z. Also, be wary of someone who is quoting super low I have had suppliers offer open bars which are literally impossible to offer drinks at that cost if it sounds too good to be true probably is.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I spent a number of years of my life working in bars and loving the industry through university. After disappearing to travel the world for a bit I came home and was desperate to not have a usual job so started working for an events company for festivals and events and getting the experience in my industry. Nothing makes me happier and prouder than seeing people enjoy what you have created I love offering far more than just a bar but the whole experience.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have certainly recommended Add to Event to a number of my friends planning an event I think it is a great way to get some fantastic quotes.
All the events I have had have been lovely people and went well and we received positive feedback although I had to go down on our minimum spend.
