What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we need the event date, type and times as well as an estimated number of guests. We also need to know about level access (widths etc) to the outside space and confirmation there is an electrical hook up (just a regular household 3 pin socket) From this, we will be able to provide a quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, ask the provider about their previous experience. Offering an 'experience' is a unique skill, and customers should feel they are in the hands of professionals. Also, look for 'uniqueness'. Everyone wants their event to 'stand out from the others. Also, find out if your choice of provider can adapt their range to suit your event perfectly.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Debbie and Simon are the couple behind the very first micropub in Scotland which went on to win 10 mighty awards including Visit Scotland's Best Pub in the Lothians and Borders. They sold the business in 2021 following the pandemic and set about thinking of ways to deliver the FUN back into hospitality.
They were once described as delivering service like "custodians of a louche house party" by GQ Magazine, no less, so they weren't about to give in!
Rutherfords 2 has been likened to a Speakeasy and we reckon that's just perfect! Only now, we don't have to talk in hushed voices...!
