What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us, the more information the better! But ideally we would need the event date, an explanation of what the event is, where the event is being held (if known) the duration of the event and the estimated number of guests. We would also need to know what kind of facilities are available (for example electricity and water supply). From there we would be able to provide the most accurate quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would firstly ask what kind of drinks they provide. If, like us, they are specialised in a certain product then they should be happy to chat to you about what they offer. Also, ask if they are willing to be flexible with their products and if they would be happy supplying something ad-hoc or a product that you are particularly fond of. It may also be worth asking where they have traded before so it gives you an idea of the type of brand they are offering.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Alfie's Beer Bus came out of a love of beer - particularly craft beer! South Wales has an amazing craft beer scene with amazing local breweries across the country. We have been to numerous events in the past only to be faced with generic, run of the mill drinks suppliers so we wanted to provide a service that was different, excited and give the customer a beverage that is something unlike anything they may have tasted before!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Our favourite event has been providing drinks for a small gymnastics business. It was their 3rd birthday and they wanted a bar to provide drinks for the adults - mainly the dads! They were amazed at the quality of the beers and also the choice available. Many of the customers had never tried craft beer before but I definitely think they'll be trying them again now!
