What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To enable us to provide an accurate and extensive quote we need to know when the event is, where it is, how many guests are expected, if it is indoor or outdoor, if you would prefer for us to use the Van or the Catering Gazebo, what kind of event it is and your general budget. This information allows us to build a bespoke menu to suit you and your guests.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Begin by asking the mobile caterer about the products they are offering - where do they source their meat from? Do they know the background to the food they are providing - ie are the animals reared locally? Ask them about the options they are providing - are they flexible enough to incorporate your own ideas? Are they willing to build a menu with you (instead of for you) for your event? Find out how long they've been running their business! Check their food hygiene rating online and any reviews on social media. All of this should give you all the information you need.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Beefed Up Catering was established in April 2016 after many months of planning. My husband had been badgering me for years to start our own catering business, but I had always been reluctant to take the plunge. I eventually gave in after our own wedding in 2015 and running out of excuses not to! Starting the business was the best thing we ever did! We share a passion for creating good food with locally sourced produce and love having happy customers. We work hard to ensure our customers are able to help build bespoke menus for their special events too!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have only recently joined Add to Event, and have secured 2 large bookings for September/October, but haven't attended any as yet. I have found the website easy to use, and I am delighted that I can access events/parties etc that I might not have been able to quote for otherwise. I have already recommended Add to Event to various contacts I have within the hospitality industry, and I am certain that it will become a regular stop for me when looking for events to cater at.
