What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For an accurate quote, we require the date of the event, location, and start/finish timings. However, providing more information can speed up the booking process, so if you'd also like to include the type of event, number of guests and preferred type/genres of music that would be great! Once we have the required details we will price up some options and get them sent over to you ASAP.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always compare your options in terms of how much is being offered for the price, rather than just opting for the cheaper options. We often hear horror stories about DJs not turning up or their lighting/sound system being disappointing on the night - by then it's too late! As it's unlikely you will have ever seen your chosen DJ or Disco in person before, asking for photos and checking the company's reviews online is super important. Never be afraid to ask questions, or suggest ideas - it's your event and you should be able to have it just how you like it.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Izaac James Disco is my own business based on over 10 years of experience. I started at a very young age, and became fascinated by music and the equipment that makes events look and sound amazing. What was a hobby quickly became a business, and since then has grown year-on-year (thanks to continuous upgrades, experience and our fabulous customer feedback). Today we provide DJ & Disco services for a wide range of events across South-West England, and I also run a hire business alongside, offering equipment rental for events.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is our main source of bookings so it's difficult to pick just one of our favourite events. One of the most memorable was a festival-style 18th birthday near Glastonbury that we provided the DJ, Sound, and Lighting for. This was at a private residence and the birthday girl and her family pulled out all the stops - they had giant canvas tents, festival-style festoon lighting, food trucks, a swimming pool... and of course the 'club tent' featuring ourselves, with our extra-large setup and overhead nightclub lighting! Needless to say, the 100+ guests partied through to the early hours and enjoyed every second. We're still looking for an event to top that, but I'm certain a request like this will come through Add to Event soon!
