Funky Discos & Karaoke provide a disco and DJ and karaoke for any event. They have been in business for 25 years and the DJs are professional, polite and experienced. They are based in the Scottish Borders.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to ideally and realistically quote as best possible we need to know, what type of event it is, where it is, expected number of guests attending, Importantly we would need to know if it is indoors or outdoors and then is this on groundfloor level or not. This helps us quote for jobs effectively.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider, how long have they been providing services in their area of expertise, It's a bit like taking your car for a service, would you want to go to them if they had no clue about your request? Local word of mouth is also essential and a good provider will also have word of mouth recommendations.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Funky Discos was born out of a love for music and starting Djing while at primary school (feels like such a long time) The founder of the business has many years in the hospitality industry and has gone on to perform at gigs (private) where some a-listers have attended. We love to see a happy party and not a depressed one, The business started with a little bit of equipment and has grown in size due to popularity and repeat bookings.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had lots of bookings and enquiries through Add to Event and it's a great platform, It has enabled us to reach new customers who we hope will recommend us to their friends, family and colleagues.
