What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
The information that we require to find a suitable package that we could provide any organiser of a party or event, is clear precise instructions of where the event is to take place including the arrival times to give us plenty of time to set the equipment up to complete sound and lighting checks and other items that we may provide. Also, times that we are required to perform our services including what the party/event is for. We like to know roughly how many guests have been invited again to tailor the equipment to suit. Whether the event party is inside or at an outside venue with adequate power for us to use. We need contact numbers and where possible an email address and contact number to forward our relevant certificates to before the event date. And most importantly where possible a list of songs that our client would like incorporating into the playlist that we already know works well. Please also include any songs that you know are maybe unsuitable to play.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Please ensure that the supplier knows exactly what you require from them. lease with them several times and where possible put in writing what you require so that they can confirm the availability. Also, ensure that they carry the necessary certificates with them such as Public Liability Insurance and although not a legal requirement by law a valid PAT test certificate to ensure that their equipment is checked and safe. Most venues will ask you or your supplier to provide these in advance of your party event. Ask if the booking will be contracted solely to them and what back up plans are in place should the supplier have to cancel in an emergency, so many times we have received a call from a venue or bride and groom or organiser to say that the supplier has not turned up. repeat your requirements many times so that months or years of planning for your special day are not ruined by a supplier with limited experience. Where possible ask for reviews from previous clients so that you can see exactly what other clients thought of their service.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Dave Collins roadshow has been established for over 25 years with myself becoming a DJ after playing drums in my older brothers band. I decided that I did not like being at the back of the stage and wanted to participate with guests and audiences in a more hands-on way. I enjoy entertaining my clients and always put 110 per cent effort into my performance and set up. I understand full well how important it is for a client to choose the right supplier. Too many times I have seen months or years of planning ruined by the wrong choice of supplier. Dave Collins Roadshow thrives on our repeat clients who have given us our Award-winning 5-star reviews and we guarantee that we will work alongside and with you to ensure that your event is a complete success.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Having only just joined Add to Event I have already received many enquiries and have the pleasure of having them accepted by clients who I have chatted to personally. I would highly recommend clients to use Add to Event to find their perfect supplier and would not hesitate to recommend colleagues to join as well.
