What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide you with a quotation for your event, please tell us in as much detail the following:-
- date of the event
- type of event
- music choice
- venue of the event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask the provider if they plan to be the DJ themselves or are they a multi-operator using several DJs and outsourcing.
People underestimate the importance of a sound system, it should be loud, but not screaming and uncomfortable with a nice bit of deep bass that isn't overpowering.
Lighting systems make or break and atmosphere, ensure your DJ doesn't have cheap £30 lights bought from eBay. "Quality pays, it doesn't cost"
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Cook Sound Discos was born in 2019, however, my DJ Career started some 21 years ago! Working with my dad and his mobile disco business every weekend, I soon learnt how to entertain. I progressed into the bars then on to the clubs. I retired from DJing to focus on my career in 2015 and went into being a "cover" DJ for those who wanted time off, this has seen me DJing in a lot more venues. I decided that my true passion was entertaining private parties and working with my own equipment meant I could be more than a typical mobile DJ. Instead, I wanted to work with the BEST equipment and the BEST lighting shows, and cool sounds were born.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We are hoping our business with Add to Event will soon take off again. It's been really tough of late with Covid, its saw my business paused for 18 Months. I've worked in so many settings, and I'm not scared to pick a microphone up and address 5000 people! Booking Cool Sounds is nice and easy, you can pay online, and even pay off at your own leisure, so weekly or monthly as much or as little as you like until its paid.
