Based in Lancashire, The Gin Meister serves an extensive range of artisan gins from their quirky 1960's Rice horse trailer. Catering for weddings, private parties, festivals and more they have years of experience in the trade.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we would need the event date, what type of event they are hosting and the approximate number of guests. We would also need to know the location, whether it's indoors or outdoors, what timings they are looking at hiring our vintage mobile gin bar for, whether or not there is power at the venue and also if a TENS licence is required. An idea of spend per head and if its to be a prepaid or cash bar or an accumulation of both. From this information we can provide a tailor made quote of our services to assist them in making their day extra special.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If I was a customer looking for a mobile gin bar - I would be asking the provider how many artisan gins they supply and discuss their service, ensuring that garnishes etc. and premium tonics were supplied. They should take a look at their website to see what vehicle they have and at testimonials from other events. By calling them directly to gage their flexibility in maybe travelling out of their area and most importantly by calling them to see how friendly/professional they are.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Having already established a successful gin club within our own pub (having over 50 gins in stock) we realised there was a niche market to do something different and decided to buy a battered and unloved 1960's horse trailer and turn her into something magical. Hence "Molly" was created with much love and dedication to spread the news of this exciting spirit "gin" in all its forms and guises. We have spent many years in the hospitality industry and are passionate about service and want to share "Molly" with people to make their day and event the most memorable that it can be.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

As our business in the form of "Molly" has only been going since November we haven't had that much experience with the Add to Event platform - but it has given us our very first festival. Through them, we were able to attend the Chester Christmas Food and Drink Festival in December 2017. Over 2000 people attended the event and the mulled gin went down a storm, as you can imagine it was a cold and damp day but the warmth of the drink kept peoples spirits up. My brother who is in the food industry introduced you to us and we would definitely recommend Add to Event to others who are just starting out in their new business ventures. We certainly gained a lot of experience from the event and it was an introduction of "Molly" to the outside world. Thank you.
