What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As a horsebox bar, it's important to know whether the venue space is suitable for us to manoeuvre into, we do have 'Matilda' our remote-controlled mover that helps; but that initial conversation about the venue is important, along with the date, number of guests and sometimes the demographic; it helps us to know as much about the event and guests as possible, to make sure we have the perfect mix of drinks for everyone to enjoy.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking to book your perfect mobile bar, check what sets them apart from others like them; can they pour a draught beer using the same equipment as a pub? Can they provide a good selection of drinks for your guests and are those drinks good quality/premium brands? Are their staff members qualified and knowledgeable, to not only give your guests information and recommendations but to offer a new drink "experience" that they will remember? How many staff members do they have? nobody wants a huge drinks queue at their event. When it comes to payment, is there flexibility in how drinks are paid for? (not all bars are "free" at events, but some can be a mix, welcome drink, set amount) and are their options for payment e.g. cash, card, contactless, Apple & Google Pay. All these questions will give you confidence that you will get the right supplier for your event to be successful and stress-free.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We're sisters and have spent our entire working life in the corporate world, both having events and hospitality experience, running our own bar has always been something we dreamed about. When the opportunity came our way, we couldn't resist. Our aim was to create a well-equipped luxury horsebox bar, with a strong brand that was meaningful to us. The Lilly Mills Drinkery was born! (by the way, Lilly Mills was our Grandmother!). Customer service is really important to us; so chatting to our clients about their event is key, it helps us understand their vision and expectations so that we can provide the perfect bar based on their hopes, dreams and budget.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We had only been on this platform a short while when we had several bookings come through. We were selected for a Vegan "Summer Session" event, open to the public at a brand new venue (The Shed, Bordon). We carefully selected a bar set up with vegan-friendly options and also served vegan-friendly cocktails, hand-made with fresh ingredients. The visitors loved it and so did we, a fabulous atmosphere and we received lots of amazing comments on how beautiful our bar was and how delicious the cocktails were. Our client was really happy with us and has booked us for other events since. We have recommended this platform to other suppliers and to event bookers too, it's great, thank you.
