The Gin Tin Bar provides a great variety of bars and drinks for every occasion served from their main bar which is a vintage converted caravan. They are able to customise the bar to the needs of the event and offer advice and recommendations for their drinks and also for what you should check when looking to book a mobile bar for your occasion.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We would love to provide you with the most accurate quote that we can. Please, can you provide us with as much detail to help us to do that? The type of information we need is the number of people, the kind of drinks required if you have a budget you are trying to stick to. If we know your budget we can look at customising the package for you. We attend a variety of events and very rarely do we have the same bar, we always offer something special to each event. Please let us know if there is something you would like us to offer.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking for a provider, make contact with them! Several people can offer the product but will you want their service? For bars, many people quote prices e.g. then supply a different bar with either low-grade alcohol or at a different price. Please be aware if booking a free bar, you really shouldn't book this on price alone. Quality drinks and service are not cheap.

Always check the brands of drinks that are going to be on offer.

Small bars look really cute but if you have a high number of guests that are likely to go to the bar at the same time the service will be slow. Small bars have limited capacity. Larger bars can stock more products, are able to have more staff. Think about what is important to you.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Gin Tin Bar was started to improve a work-life balance. The bar allows me to spend time with people enjoying themselves and talking about my favourite topics alcohol. Whilst we specialise in Gin we do offer a full bar service including cocktails. Many years ago I worked in a bar part-time and remember it as a happy place to work. Now I've created a business that makes myself and my staff happy to work at. We love celebrations!!!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is a great platform for us to gain business. We have had a variety of bookings through them from pop up bars for hen parties to street festivals.
