What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. This will help us to put together a suitable proposal and recommend which of our 'pop up' or horsebox bars to use.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, think about what kind of package you would like, do you want to have a cash bar (guests pay for their drinks), an open bar where you pay per head and all drinks are free, or a combination of the two? Get details on any costs such as mileage, a deposit or any additional 'add ons' on offer. A drinks menu/pricelist should also be up there on something you ask for, you don't want to hire someone and then have your guests paying through the nose all night! Also consider if you would like to have glassware or plastic cups, any kind of welcoming drinks (e.g. a glass of prosecco), these can add an extra flair to your day.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Gin Hut is a family run business, co-founded by Alex and her brother-in-law Phil. The idea was born one summers day while drinking Gin in Alex's parents garden - fast forward a year and we now have 'The Gin Hut' our mobile Gin bar from a converted horsebox and a variety of 'pop up' bars on offer. Our aim is to bring a slick, friendly service to every event we attend.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Our most memorable event to date has to be our local beer festival (Bourne, Lincolnshire). Serving Gin to 10,000 thirsty people was an amazing experience, we spoke to some lovely people and had excellent feedback on our facebook page. We're looking forward to returning next year and many years to come. We're new to Add to Event, however, we love it and have already booked an event for every weekend in October using it. We cannot recommend the platform enough.
