What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide an accurate quote we would ideally like to know the date of the event, how many people will be attending and what the venue is. For bar services, we also find it very helpful to know if the customer would like a specific number of drinks per person included, and approximately what this would be, or if they would like a bar service with unlimited drinks. It is also helpful to know about any special requests such as specific drinks or cocktails that the customer would like included on their menu.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider what is included in the price they have quoted. Ask them what would be on their menu and whether they will be providing glassware. And if they are providing glassware do they need somewhere to wash it on the day of the event or do they bring enough to not need that facility. If they are providing disposable drinkware, find out if they use eco-friendly products.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Touring Tipples was originally born out a love of gin. We started with mobile gin tastings and as our love for gin grew even bigger we began to experiment with different gin cocktails. We now not only experiment with gin-based cocktails but all kinds and there is nothing we love more than providing our customers with a fun day or evening and leaving them with very little work and organising to do themselves.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We ran a surprise party for a 60th Birthday party through Add to Event. We love a surprise party! As well as a gin menu of around 10 gins we also provided a selection of cocktails and they all went down extremely well. Add to Event is a great platform that allows the customer to easily get a range of quotes by only filling in their requirements once. A great idea!
