What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to work out a quote that will work for our clients, we need to know the event date, what the event is for e.g. wedding, stag do, birthday party, a rough guide on how many guests, and the location of the bar we will be hosting, will we set up in indoor space or an outside event. Then we can work out a menu that works for our clients, using local suppliers and distilleries.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly always ask about what they are going to offer you, see if they understand the products and if they meet your needs! Ask them for an example menu, and ask them why they have chosen specific spirits etc. We for example try and focus on using local distilleries that we have been able to visit and meet the people making the spirits! We also recommend asking if their setup will work for the area that you are hosting your event in, for example, if they run a horsebox bar but your event is indoors that might not be the best fit!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
The Tavern has come from people who have been in the industry for over 25 years combined, and wanted to make your events affordable with great quality! We pride ourselves on having customers come back for multiple drinks throughout the night without feeling like they have been stung by the bar!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had lots of bookings through Add to Event, we love working with the brides and grooms and building a custom wedding menu that works for their special day! We have already been recommending the site to friends in the catering world and they have been loving it too! While the platform is still growing, it's great to see it still has a close community feel!
