What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Hello, first of all, the fire engine has a presence!! It's 6.5ton, 7.5m long, 2,5m wide and 3m high, is there access to the site - whether indoors or out?
When and where is the event being held?
How many hours/days is the event for?
What Champagne is required - white, rose, vintage, brand, bottle size?
How many people are expected at the event and how many glasses per person?
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check your prospective provider has the knowledge and experience of their product. Having attended many Champagne tours in Reims and Epernay, our understanding of Champagne has greatly improved, the more we learn, the more we find out there is to learn. We are able to serve a variety of Champagnes - white, rose and vintage, Champagne based cocktails and English sparkling wines. Our fridges are set to 8c meaning Champagne can be served at the optimum temperature of 8-11c.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Champagne Fire Truck - a 1972 British Leyland AEC (our second fire engine) was born after purchasing a 1964 Dennis fire engine in need of loads of TLC. Wanting to keep the charm and appearance of the Dennis, what to serve from it had proved challenging without changing/losing the great look. One evening in Feb 2019 the light bulb moment happened - use it as the backdrop for a Champagne bar. The following month a contact we'd made with the Dennis fire engine got in contact with the offer of a working AEC fire engine and the journey started.
