What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to give an accurate quote we need as much information as possible. where the venue is, is it ground floor, if not is there a lift that we can put equipment in, or just stairs? What times do you require the hire for and when can we load in and load out?
An idea of the theme of the event sometimes helps for us to make recommendations.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We are always happy to recommend a service or product that we think would work for you, so please ask questions and let us know what you are trying to achieve and this will put us in a good position to recommend.
We as a hirer have lots of stock that you may not realise could be of use to you, we are happy to make suggestions and also happy if you don’t want to take the offer.
A professional supplier, us included, will always strive to make your event the best it can be. We also have a large amount of contacts that we can source stock from and are also in a position to recommend another supplier if we don’t stock what you require.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I built my business from humble beginnings way back in 1976 as a DJ, my initial investment was £100. I have worked as a DJ in a large variety of venues for probably every situation you can think of. Over the years, situations have taken me to experience many different types of entertainment and equipment. This led me to diversify to the point that we now still supply DJ services but also supply a large variety of other services, including, Comparing, indoor or outdoor staging, sound systems, lighting of all types, led dance floors, led video walls, effects, rigging, sound, lighting, electrical management, and much more.
We are expanding every day and intend to do so for many years to come.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had several successful bookings through Add to Event, there are a few that stand out as being outstanding events. The one that springs to mind is one that we covered last weekend. We supplied a 2m x 3.5m video wall for a Birthday Football party. This was set in a teepee and it had its challenges, but we overcame all the challenges and the client was very happy with our services.
