What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To give you the best possible quote ideally we need:
* The event date
* Times you want us to perform.
* Venue location
* Is the event inside or outside.
* If the venue is outside - is there a covered area for us to set up in - and is there power available.
* Expected number of guests
* Have you a preferred style of music
From this information, we can then provide you with an accurate quotation.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To get the best from a live music supplier - it's best to research first what type/style of music you are looking for, know exactly what event you are planning, and where you intend to hold the event.
If it's for a wedding or general party - you'll most likely have guests of all ages with widely differing musical tastes - so ask the supplier how they can work with those sorts of events. Ask if they also include Disco - this means they can provide a wider style of entertainment to "fill in" between live music sets - and please especially the younger elements at a party.
Ask about their equipment - have they got a good PA system & good lighting - it makes all the difference when the sound is just right - and the venue is well lit. Can they provide a wireless mic for announcements?
Also if the event is outside if required can they provide their own cover in case of bad weather.
Finally - ask if they have Public liability insurance (PLI) and if all their equipment tested (PAT) - and can certificates of PLI and PAT be provided
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
It's a "passion" that you can't ignore - the passion of "getting up there" - and making people happy!
We've always been interested in playing music. For most of us entertainers - it starts with playing "live" at a local venue - and then you get the thrill of seeing people enjoying themselves - dancing and signing to "our" music.
From there it becomes a real passion - and the more you do - the more you can do - and as you progress and acquire more skills, equipment and sheer "musical knowledge " and find what works and how to entertain audiences - well - the rest is history!
Over 12 years ago - we crossed that threshold - and set ourselves up to entertain you all at Weddings / Parties /Special events. We've never looked back!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Here's a really good one we've done! not the biggest - but the most fun!
We were asked to provide live music for a "surprise" 80th Birthday party held outside in a garden.
You can imagine the range of ages and family/friends that were there - but no one except the organiser
( the daughter) knew what we were really planning!
We popped over there in the morning to set up when no one was there. Later on - as guests started to arrive around 3 pm - they used the excuse that our gear that was set up in the corner of the garden was just for a bit of background music ( it was covered over so you couldn't see most of it - only the speakers ).
When we got there to start at around 6 pm - the party had been going for a while with all the guests present.
No one really noticed us arriving ( all part of the undercover operation) and as we took off the covers we announced who we were -and launched straight into live entertainment singing the 80th Birthday girls favourite song! She was given a radio mic so she could sing along - the guests just loved it! We even had the Birthday girl dancing to tones and I "Dance Monkey" and many other "chart" songs!
It was intended that we'd only sing for an hour or so - but everyone was enjoying it so much - we actually finished 3 hours later at 9 pm!
Brilliant!
