What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide the most accurate and personal quote for your event we need a few specific details. Firstly, is this for an indoor or outdoor event? Some of our items are available for outdoor hire, however as they are higher quality than some others you find out there, we can't leave them overnight and silk flowers are not waterproof! We can arrange a bespoke drop off and collection time in these instances, and work with you to make sure we can supply your event. Secondly, what type of event are you hosting? And thirdly how many guests are you looking to host? We are able to cater for nearly all events and sizes!
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check the supplier out on a number of platforms. It's difficult to have a large number of reviews on every platform (Google, Facebook, the numerous Wedding sites) so gain an all-round view before you book. Ask for photos of their equipment in use, or examples of previous events so you can ensure they're not just using stock or (and this does happen!) other companies photos! Asking people you know for reviews is also important, but don't forget opinions are subjective so the level of quality you're looking for isn't always what someone else is/was after. Lastly, make sure the company are based within your area where possible as those travelling longer distances could lead to lateness or even cancel due to traffic etc.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We started Rent For Your Event purely out of chance really after wanting to spend more time at weddings. The business started small, hiring out beautiful cast iron post boxes out for weddings and it grew from there. Two years on, and grown from a love of flowers we're now known in our area for our handmade flower walls and beautiful backdrops!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is a great platform for connecting us with customers, and a notable one was last year where we supplied our Grass Wall for a surprise 50th birthday party, days before we found out about lockdown in fact! It was an exciting race to get the party in before the country shut down but great fun designing a festival style theme for the wall.
We have had lots of successful connections with customers via Add to Event, some of which are still waiting to happen. 2021 will be a great year for us all once lockdown ends!
