What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
No two events are the same when you work bespoke like us. For this reason, the more we know, the more we can help you make an informed decision.
For us to be able to provide a comprehensive proposal we need to understand the basics: what type of event, how many guests you're expecting (including adult/children breakdown), where is it taking place, what support you need - would you like us to take care of the entire event or parts of it - say the entertainment and catering only or the cake, the styling and clearing afterwards.
Lastly, if you have a budget to work to and know that be upfront about it, it doesn't mean we'll go for that, but it'll help massively finding solutions that will fit your needs much quicker.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be clear on what you are looking for and what support you're after. Bespoke companies tailor their services to your needs, so unless you work together to have clarity on what you're after you'll only know part of the story when you contract anyone.
The main thing you should look our for in an events organiser is flexibility. Our job is to take all the stress away from the client and bring their vision to life within the budget agreed. It's no small feat, so you're looking for someone you "click" with. Have a chat, understand how comfortable you feel with the person and trust them.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Hip Hip Events was created specifically because as a parent it was really hard to have the party I wanted for my child without doing it all by myself.
I wanted bespoke, unique events that reflected what my daughter would love - at home or a venue that I loved, but without the pain and stress that comes with organising it (and without breaking the bank!). I'm completely passionate about it and did many myself. The feedback was always the same: "you're so good, you should do this professionally".
So I did. Then Hip Hip was born.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I'm loving Add to Event. The number of leads and the quality of them has been great.
My best experience though was in partnership with a catering company named Hungry Chefs, which was very well recommended in this platform. We found each other and together we had an extremely well-received Christmas event at the end of 2018. The party was catered for 85 guests and we provided all organising and styling of it. The feedback couldn't have been better and we're already booked for next year.
I'm sure 2019 is going to be another busy one thanks to Add to Event!
