What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide a close estimate of costs, we would normally require the event date and location, a brief explanation of the type of event, and an estimate of the number of guests likely to attend.
We would also need to know if there is a venue or you plan to use a marquee, depending on if the event or party is indoors or outdoors, we can help source a venue or structure provider.
iI is also helpful to advise on any particular theming or decor and in what style, for example, rustic, modern, contemporary.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

To save time speaking to several different providers it is worth giving as much detail on your proposed party or event. It is also worth trying to find out as much about the providers/suppliers style or USP to see if they are a good match, eg. you may be looking for a modern contemporary feel to your party but the provider/supplier specialises in rustic themes, therefore you won't waste time talking to the providers that don’t meet the criteria.
It is also very helpful to have a min/max budget in mind as this is often the most difficult part to get right...we can give some guidance on this if you have no idea of potential costs!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Alfresco Trends Events was started after going to many parties and events during my years at a previous job and being constantly disappointed with them! I’ve always had a creative mind and wanted to put this skill to good use.
We prefer to have a face to face meeting after capturing the initial brief and can then take time with clients to understand what they are really looking for and the vision they have for their party or event and we then do our best to bring this Vision to Reality based on a given budget range.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

The majority of our bookings have been birthday parties or special occasions, one example was a 40th birthday party where the client didn’t really know where to start, all they really wanted was an upmarket venue with a glamorous setting for their friends and family to enjoy! We sourced a suitable venue and room and then designed a room layout with stylish decor to match. the room already had gold curtains and carpet with gold in it and we decided on a black and gold themed party with a glamorous feel to it. We visited the venue with the client and agreed on the various supplier and costs, many of the suppliers were sourced through Add to Event and we would not hesitate to recommend this platform to other suppliers and to other clients.
