What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To put it simply: The most important thing you can tell me is the when and where - the rest, we'll figure out together!
That's because the only limiting factor to whether I can photograph your wedding is if I'm already busy that day. I know that you might be looking for your wedding photographer months in advance when details like guest number and venue might not be set in stone yet. I'm in touch with my wedding couples on a regular basis - there's no need to have all the answers from the very beginning.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Photographs last a lifetime, so it's important that you love the photographs they take. Have a look at their past work! If you like what you see, you can figure out the other aspects, like price, what's included in the service, delivery time, and so on.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I asked my parents to buy me my first camera for my 13th birthday. Ever since then, photography has been a passion in my life that I couldn't shake. It took me four years of a Philosophy and Linguistics degree at university to realise that my passion for photography wasn't going anywhere - so I made it my life.
I've specialised in documentary wedding photography - a relaxed, authentic, unposed approach to taking photos. This resonates with the couples who book me. You shouldn't have to worry about posing for your photos on the biggest day of your life - you have more important things to do, like celebrate with your loved ones. A documentary approach to photography lets you do just that.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been a great platform to connect with clients. It's a seamless service, for me and for the people I work with!
One event that springs out as particularly special was a wedding I photographed in the late winter. It might not have been the nicest weather - the Scottish weather outdid itself, with the 30mph gusts and sleet - and it was February, so the sunset early; but it was the most beautiful wedding. The dramatic weather made for a beautifully eerie backdrop, and the indoor ceremony had a cosiness to it that you appreciate just the more when it's miserable outside.
It made for incredible photos - which goes to show that your wedding day doesn't need to be perfect to have an amazing time. We'll make it work, no matter what!
