What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer we require the event date, approximate start time, event type and venue location. We have a number of photo booths that are suitable for indoor locations and outdoor locations, please let us know in advance where the booth will be positioned.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always ask your provider what level of public liability insurance they carry and is their equipment PAT tested. Discuss the best location for your photo booth to get the maximum use from your guests. Discuss timings with your provider, if you have a 4-hour hire and your event ends at midnight we would recommend booking the booth from 7:30 - 11:30.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Madbooths was formed after my Son (Mikey) was left brain-damaged after a mistake in a hospital when he was 9 years old in August 2011. After Mikey had been in intensive care for 6 months we moved to Surrey so he could receive treatment at The Children's Trust at Tadworth Court. After 6 months with no earnings, I built my first photo booth and lent it to The Children's Trust for a charity event and took my first paying booking at the same event. We spent 4 years in hospitals around the country and finally returned home in 2015 and the photo booth allowed us to care for Mikey in the day and earn money in the evenings.

I have been a professional photographer for 35 years with a studio in Lutterworth and an MA in photography from DeMontfort University.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Last year I decided to split Andy Lewis Photography and Madbooths into two separate entities. Previously I have received many photo booth bookings through Andy Lewis Photography on Add to Event.

On one memorable booking, we had to install a photo booth on a River Thames party boat and we recently provided a London Taxi photo booth to a Peaky Blinders themed party. We recently provided a branded London Taxi Booth and event photography for large UK based Insurance company and we have completed numerous school prom functions.
