Capture My Image
Capture My Image offer a unique style of photography to capture true moments of happiness and also include some fun when capturing group shots and poses. Find out more below and also some really useful advice for choosing a photographer for your event.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Please feel free for a quote, I am open-minded to any couples needs with my service.
All I really need to know from a perspective of information is, location of ceremony and venue: I like to check out the venue for both the ceremony and party so I can prearrange any special instructions with the venue holders and also to pre-plan any posed shots.
Time of event, what you would like from your day, what would you like your media to be provided on.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Freelance photography, Wedding or otherwise is a very competitive field. There are so many photographers that it is hard to choose the wheat from the chaff, my advice would be is to check the photographer's background, are they professionally trained? Are they registered with a professional body, such as the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) ETC, How do they use their camera and lighting? Do they use a professional camera? Do they use the camera in manual? Ask them what their background is? Do they have a photography background?
Find out about the photographers packages and what do they offer. Many photographers talk about having a style, but quite often this is rubbish, a professional photographer should be able to offer you a service you require. Also, look at their portfolio, are their images over-edited, are their images oddly cropped, do they add filters to their images? these are often good clues to how much they rely on their skill with a camera or whether they spend weeks on end editing their images in the hope to rescue what they have taken on the day.
Turn around time is important to you as the bride and groom, it is also a good way to find out how they priorities your images. If it is going to take weeks or months then you have to question how good they are with a camera. I personally believe that you need a minimal amount of time on editing as you should get the composing and lighting correct with the camera.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have been a professional photographer and illustrator working for the NHS over the last twelve years. I have a vast experience of shooting events from weddings, christenings, conferences and promotional shoots. I have been very fortunate to have travelled across the UK and Europe, taking images at special events. I have also won several awards within my profession and also with my private work.
My private business has always relied on word of mouth, but I have now decided that I want to promote myself and my service as I have developed a real passion for capturing people’s special moments
I offer a unique style of photography where I capture true moments of happiness and also like to have fun when capturing group shots and poses.
As well as weddings and family events I also photograph business events and product promotion.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I recently did a wedding in Oxford for a last-minute request, as part of my service I go to visit sites where the couple would like images to be taken. The couple wanted to have images taken in the Corpus Christi College, I went to visit the site the day before, because as I said it was very last minute. The couple were desperate to have their couple shoot on their grounds. I asked the porters to look around and explained what I was there to do, they informed me that the college would be closed to the public on the day of the wedding and any requests had to be dealt with weeks in advance. After looking around and feeling a little worried I spoke to the porters and managed to convince them to let us in the following day. The best bit was we managed to have the images taken in the ground and we had it completely to ourselves.
