Based in West Yorkshire near Harrogate, The Horsebox Pizza Company provides wood-fire pizza and Mediterranean street food for a range of events from corporate days to weddings, sporting events, festivals and street food events.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

There is no such thing as too much information! Ideally let us know where and if the venue has had street food pop up before. Is it outdoors with power and water, we can work around the power and water but an external space is really key. The number of guests to be catered for, include yourselves and decide if we are also feeding the bar, band, clean up crew etc. The time you would like food served will also have an impact of the cost and availability so be sure to specify. We will come back for answers to these and more but are more likely to get the quote right first time if you shower us with information!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Where can I taste your food?! That is the most important question, we often pop up at events where we know we won't make much profit but there are usually a few potential clients in the audience whoa are eager to taste. Ask how the ingredients are kept fresh during transportation and service, and what percentage of their food is made by the vendor rather than bought in and heated. Ask about their consumables and environmental ethos, its very important to us that all our plates, napkins, boxes, cutlery etc are completely compostable and that serving great food doesn't cost the earth.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

HorseboxPizza is a labour of love. First started with our wood fired oven built in the garden by the family over a summer. The flavour of wood fired pizza is second to none, so we decided to make a business out of it and spread the love! Putting an oven in a Horsebox was my midlife crisis, that's why he's red! But he's no sports car he's a hard working stallion with a big heart and a huge oven!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Tough question. We have catered for so many great events and weddings through Add to Event. The one which sticks in my mind is from May this year, where we catered for 175 guests in an evening/late night service. The feedback on the night was great - we served buffet style and had some leftovers for the bar area and the pictures look magical.
