What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to provide an accurate quote to a potential customer, I would need the date and rough timings for the event, the kitchen facilities available (if any) at the venue, a brief plan of the type of event they are hosting and how many guests attending.
I will then be able to give a more accurate quote for them to consider.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly check their social media and website to get a rough understanding of what they can offer, you should then aim to speak to them over the phone and have a list of questions you want to ask. Ensure they have adequate insurance and caterers are registered with their local council so can you can view their environment health 'scores on the doors rating'

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been a chef for over 20 years working in a variety of kitchens in England and Australia, during lockdown whilst the hospitality industry was closed I decided to set up my own private catering business. Initially cooking for people in their own homes for dinner parties, birthdays etc. The long-term aim was to begin catering for weddings and large events. Three years down the line I am now full-time in my business and am able to take on weddings and events for over 300 people.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I am new to Add to Event but am already seeing how good it is, taking bookings for weddings and private events for this year and next year. I have just completed a gala dinner, an NHS graduation ball for over 300 people. The event run perfectly.
