What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a provider it is not always who is the cheapest that is the best one for you. Look at the quality of ingredients they use and where their ingredients are sourced from, if looking for caterers. If you are looking for specific equipment then double check it is right for the job you want it to do. If it is a service they are providing make sure they have the expertise and experience to deliver this service to the standard you require. All of these aspects are important when choosing the right supplier.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
After working in the hospitality industry for over 18 years at a variety of fantastic venues, all at management level and my last role before deciding to set up Taste Oxfordshire was Hospitality & Events Manager at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. All of my previous roles taught me what is needed to deliver exceptional service and standards. Living in the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire, we have some of the best ingredients the UK has to offer. So putting both of these aspects together gave me the core of what Taste Oxfordshire would offer, and that's when Taste Oxfordshire Event Management & Catering was born. We aim to offer exceptional service and standards whilst using fantastic local products where ever possible.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is becoming one of my main streams of new business and is actually where my first ever job came from. It was a 50th Birthday and they wanted a Hog Roast. After arranging to meet with the customer and run through what we could offer they actually changed their mind and went with a BBQ for 50 people in their garden. It was a fantastic event as the family I was working for were so nice but ultimately the food and service were the star. We received some truly great feedback and the organiser was kind enough to leave a fantastic review on Add to Event for us. From then we have had loads of leads and many jobs and I would definitely recommend Add to Event and look forward to working with them.
