What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We don't expect every customer to be an event expert - that's our job! However, it's good to have a few key pieces of information. As well as the date or your event, it's good to know when we can access the site or venue as this helps us put together a more detailed quote. Knowing your rough budget is also very helpful for us to recommend appropriate equipment for your event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always speak to your supplier on the phone and ask as many questions as you need to. It's likely we have run loads of events just like yours and can really help advise. Whilst different companies are sometimes cheaper than others, if you are hiring industry standard pieces of equipment, you'll probably find prices to be similar, so always consider the reputation and reliability of the supplier. It's not worth risking your event to save a few quid!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Okoru Events was started in 2009 by two friends, Mark and George who shared a love for music and events. We originally specialised in providing technical production and equipment to events in the French Alps, but over the past decade we have grown to become one of the South West's leading event production and hire companies. We specialise in equipment hire, set build and creative production for clients throughout the UK and Europe, all based out of our Bristol office and warehouse.
