What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event and of course what items they are looking to hire from us, e.g Silent Disco, P.A System, Lighting, DJ, Projector and Screen etc. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a package that is customised for their needs and provide a quote that is both comprehensive and competitively priced.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Normally you can tell immediately by the way a supplier listens to your initial enquiry and then advises you on what they think is most suited for you whether or not they are worth your time. From this you can tell how much knowledge they have of hiring the equipment or service you require. You should ask where they have provided hire for in the past and if they can provide recommendations and testimonials. Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Disco Mania was formed through my love of DJing. From playing at my parent's friend's birthday in the 80's, it has taken off and grown exponentially from just DJing by myself to having a database of my own DJs who I can call on. Whatever the customer needs from a DJ to supplying additional party hire items - we can supply it. We can also supply Silent Discos with Silent Discomania. Silent Discomania was formed 6 years ago after a visit to the 40th Glastonbury and the Silent Disco Tent. We now also supply Silent Disco equipment packages from dry hire to full party packages with total event organisation to customers all over the U.K. It just keeps getting busier and busier and long may it continue! We love our work and making events a success. Our customers work hard to hold events and celebrations, so we want to make sure that we supply the best quality of service and equipment hire to ensure they are 100% satisfied and happy and that their event is a huge success.

I have had so many bookings through Add to Event and every one I am involved with, no matter how large or small, is great to be involved with. I am very lucky that my work is in entertainment and events, where the whole purpose is to celebrate something.
