Lokee Silent Disco provides a UK-wide silent disco hire and event company specialising in the highest quality sound and priding themselves on top customer service.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To enable us to provide an accurate and comprehensive quote for a customer, we would need:
-Event date (even if only a rough idea) to check availability
-A brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting so that we know how to provide the best service
-Estimated number of guests (these can be altered but an initial number will enable us to quote)
-Type of venue and whether it is indoor or outdoor
-Whether the customer will need event management as we can potentially supply staff
Once we have all of this information, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable quote, equipment list and design.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask the provider about the product they are offering. Our headphones are extremely high quality and we have a variety of types to choose from depending on the customers needs and budgets, we tailor quotes and products to the customers needs whereas other larger Silent Disco companies have standard packages they do not divert from.
Ask the provider about whether they provide DJ's or playlists for you to be able to use or whether they can offer you advise on how to set these up. It is illegal for suppliers to send out pre-loaded devices due to music licensing laws so please be aware of this.
Ask about the battery life of the headsets as these will vary between products. Once we know what type of event the customer is running, we decide which battery life headset we send out. If the event is longer, we can provide chargers for you to re-use the equipment.
Ask if delivery, collection, VAT and deposits are included in the final price and some companies do not add these and it may catch you out when it comes to paying the final invoice. We do not charge for delivery or collection, this is run with DPD. We do not charge VAT as we are a small business and not VAT registered. We are also fortunate to not charge deposits, instead we run a security pre-authorisation like you would do when checking into a hotel. So with Lokee there are no nasty hidden charges!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Lokee Silent Disco was born out of a love for all things music and parties. Silent Discos can help when you have an event with noise regulations, but that is not their main charm.
We find when headphone wearers put on a pair, they lose their inhibitions, they settle into the vibe of the event and dance (and sing) like nobody is watching. You have not heard pure joy until you take your headphones off at a Silent Disco to listen to all the different singing going on, guests all on different playlists having the absolute time of their lives.
The Lokee Team has a huge combined experience of event planning, logistics and customer service to make sure that you get the best possible use out of our products.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
This platform has been amazing for all different types of bookings from corporate events, lockdown kitchen discos, weddings and family reunions.
So many stand out in my mind but one recent exceptional event was with a corporate booking. Guests were having to experience a few different types of transport before arriving at the venue. Why not make this a fun part of the experience? We provided headphones and transmitters that were used for guests on a bus, ferry and then on a short final walk to the venue. Lokee Silent Disco started the party and kept it going.
The client was extremely happy with our services and has recommended us elsewhere as a result.
As a small business, we need to cover all areas to generate business. Add to Event is a fantastic platform that brings customers to us and creates an open conversation.
