What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide an accurate quote I would need to know the type of event and date, the performance times and duration. I would also need an event location.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise them to be clear on what type of music/ genres they can offer and if it fits in with the atmosphere/ theme you are trying to create for your event.
Ask in advance if you have a special song you would like them to perform as it may not be in their repertoire but most singers will be happy to learn it with notice.
Make sure the artist can do the full performance time you require and check out any reviews or videos online to see what their style is.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I love singing and performing. I've always sung and I've been in various bands and solo projects over the years. I have a love of vintage glamour and the music of the 40s so I offer a vintage tribute show as well as my eclectic party show which is a mix of pop from across the decades. I have quite a large and varied repertoire from the 40's to the present day. From jazz to pop to country to reggae so am happy to tailor my shows to my client's tastes.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I'm new to Add to Event but have already had a lot of interest and have booked a few shows. I had a lovely time singing for residents in a care home in Northhampton recently. Full vintage set with 1940's costume to match. The audience was really engaged and we had a lovely sing-along and a dance. It was very lovely to take them all down memory lane.
