What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need to know the type of event so we can match the right skill and personality of the staff correctly. A good idea of the numbers the staff will be serving as well as the location of the event i.e outdoor or indoor. How many hours they are required for, the date, times and the uniform needed.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If I was looking for a provider in my area of work I would be asking what experience they had. Not just in recruiting great staff, but also if they have worked in the hospitality industry themselves. I would also ask what type of events they have staffed before and how they find their staff as I would want to know that all staff were face to face interviewed and ID checked as well as trained and fully tested so there is proof they are capable of doing their job.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
CM Recruitment Ltd was born September 2010 by myself Chrissie Metcalfe. I got into recruitment because of how badly I was treated when I needed work when I first left college and felt that I could change the recruitment industry. I moved from Liverpool to Leeds after meeting and marrying a Yorkshire man and pursued a job in recruitment. From 2008 to 2010. I was made redundant 4 times by two recruitment agencies and was caught up in a messy divorce that cost me my home and its contents and left me with nothing. So by September 2010 I had lost everything so decided I would set up my own recruitment agency and run it the way I wanted to, making it about people and not sales. Since I set the business up I have won various awards, I have a lovely office in Morley and have great office staff as well as over 200 hospitality staff from general kitchen porters to VIP hospitality staff.
