Uncle Paul are based in Northamptonshire and serve up delicious and authentic Greek street food from their stylish van. Here they outline what they need from a customer request and a bit about why they started the business.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, potential venue, and whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, ask the provider about the product they are offering, I wouldn't want my hair cut by someone who didn't know much about hair so why eat food from someone that does not know what food they are offering. Ask the provider about their menu and why they are serving what they are serving.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We are Paul and Niki, we are both Greeks that have moved in the UK with the purpose of creating Uncle Paul's food truck - a dream that has come true and that we now use in order to offer traditional Greek food to all of the UK.
At Uncle Paul's the food is cooked and served the way it does in Greece. If you have ever been to Greece then you are certainly familiar with the mouth-watering smell and taste of gyros and souvlaki. Well now you do not have to go all the way back to Greece for a taste of gyros, just book Uncle Paul for your next event and Greece will come to you.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
The last event we had booked via Add to Event was a corporate lunch day. We fed 50 people within an hour and everyone was super happy with the taste of the food, you could tell because outside was absolutely freezing but people kept waiting for more. Add to Event is a great place to find new vendors and we will continue to use it for a long time.
