What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote, we would require the event date and service times. Details on the type of event the client is hosting, where the event will be taking place and how many people are attending. We would also need to know if there are any special dietary requirements or requests, we can be really flexible with our menu and it's your event so you're the boss. We have lots of different options so if we have an idea of a clients budget we can put together a few different package options based on this.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

With Street Food catering its all about how quickly you can take an order and get it out whilst maintaining the quality of your product. If you have an event for 500 people and the service window is only 2hrs you need to check that your caterer can handle the demand. Ask them how many portions they can produce an hour. Ask the caterer about the menu, where the ingredients are sourced from what makes there food a cut above the rest. If animal welfare important to you make sure to ask where their meat is sourced, likewise if you're environmentally conscious ask them about their packaging. Most importantly ask for reviews from previous clients and what rating they have been given by The Food Standards Agency.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Cheese Toaster was started out of a passion for creating late-night snacks. Most people think of a toastie and their mind is drawn to the Breville, lack lustre white bread with a sweaty centre and somehow a lack of cheese yet you swore you put loads in. At The Cheese Toaster we aim to leave you on cheese high, we use a blend of award-winning cheeses to give the perfect melt served between slices of crunchy artisan sourdough and quality fresh ingredients.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are new to Add to Event! So looking forward to getting some bookings through the platform. We are well versed in different events though having served food at a 3 day World Music Festival, London's best street food markets and even the set of BBC's The Crown.
