What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide the most accurate price, we would require the most accurate information possible. This can be number of guests, time off arrival/set up and set down, the event location and date. This then helps us in creating a quote that ticks all the boxes.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would ask that the customer looks at their reviews, not only on this platform, but the many others that are available on social media. Genuine customer feedback is the most authentic referral you can get. If a past customer is happy then its highly likely their service is genuine and a good one to go for. Get to know the provider as best you can. Relationship is another massive key to knowing you will get a good service. Most events are because of a big celebration, normally something very personal. If they care for their work, then they would be more than happy to come down to that relationship level and celebrate with you, not just see it as being money in the bank.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have had a passion for events since I was young. I left school at 16 and worked in a Michelin Star kitchen, at a local hotel. I worked in the Conference and Banqueting department and saw weddings and events every week. I have also played the drums since an early age and played in wedding and party bands since the age of 20. My business took flight in 2017 off the back of playing at many weddings and private parties, seeing all of this lovely equipment and wanting to get in on the act. My band is also very, very busy!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had a few bookings through Add to Event. From the start, it was very easy and it's a great platform to find work that you wouldn't know is there already, with the added opportunity to chat to the hirer and add that personal touch. I would definitely recommend it.
