What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of service they are looking for and the estimated number of guests. From this, we can put together an accurate quotation.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the supplier as many questions as you can about the products they are offering. If they know their subject, they will also offer information that you haven't even thought of! No genuine supplier will mind how many things you ask or how many times you contact them. We would rather you were content and happy with the service we are providing before, during and after you event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started this business 3 years ago after taking voluntary redundancy. I had always wanted to run my own business and this was the ideal time! I love this business and I love being a part of my customer's special occasions.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had numerous bookings through Add to Event and for a period of time when my website was being developed, it was my primary source of business! I love all of the bookings we have had for different reasons. If I had to pick a favourite though, it would be for Nottingham University Students Union - it started at 11pm until the early hours of the morning. We provided one of our 5 tier chocolate fountains and served candy floss for 200 students - challenging at times, but great fun!
