What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Ideally, we would like to know the location of the event. Information regarding the type of celebration whether it is a formal sit down meal, buffet or afternoon tea simply so know what china and tableware to quote for. Finally, if the organiser has a budget they would like to work to, as we will do our best to tailor things to suit,

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Asking a few pertinent questions can help with the best communication and advice around your event. Find out if the china is vintage or new. Ensure it's not cracked or chipped and ask if you specifically want it to be a particular colour or matched sets. Enquire if the supplier can do package prices for the larger orders and if they are willing to source additional unlisted items. This way you will find out how flexible and helpful they are prepared to be. Finally, ask if they have up to date public liability insurance.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started this because I have a passion for all things vintage and love researching about the old potteries and other paraphernalia! From collecting vintage china for a Gin Parlour experience as an afternoon tea fundraising event, its become a hobby and a thriving business that allows me to indulge with enthusiasm. I love having the excuse to go and source other bits and pieces to tailor the day uniquely for each couple or organiser that contacts me. Every event I do is always fun and there's always loads of washing up for me at the end too!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Oh, how to choose there are always heaps of enquiries through Add to Event and bookings that follow on. in the excitement of it all, they don't always get flagged up on here.
A more recent booking has come from someone who, although is not exactly local is having her wedding nearby. We have had brilliant communication going on here re likes, dislikes and what is needed to tailor the day. It never matters how big or small the order is - it's about getting it right on the day for that person or organiser. This only comes about by talking and discussing the detail. It's amazingly great fun when you see it all coming together with exactly what we had all imagined it would be! Just love it!!
