What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote, the information we need from a customer is: date and duration of the event, estimated number of guests, and type of meal - afternoon tea, finger supper, 2-course or 3-course meal, etc. This information means we can put together an accurate quote, specific to their needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Provide as much information as possible about your venue, colour themes, etc. and the final effect you have in mind for your event. Check for any reviews from previous customers to see the level of service they provide.
Because we have a very large inventory, which is constantly being added to, not every item is listed on our website. Ask questions, and discuss things with them - we love sourcing items that ensure a unique event so too should any provider.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

From a long-standing passion for all things vintage to a vintage crockery and cutlery hire business - it seemed a natural progression. Having a very large inventory, Pretty Vintage is able to accommodate large events. It is lovely to be able to share these beautiful vintage items with others who have the same passion.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is a great platform. We have had some excellent bookings as a result. Probably the one that stands out the most is a lovely bride and groom who were having a wedding weekend with a vintage theme. Really bad weather and being let down at the last minute by more than one supplier added terrible stress to them. In addition to the vintage items we were providing, Pretty Vintage was able to assist in sourcing the items they needed at the last minute and the guests were none the wiser. They were really lovely. They sent us a gift and some wine afterwards as a thank you.
