What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We love to supply china for Afternoon Tea events large and small, private or corporate. We simply need to know the location (postcode is fine), number of guests and either the package they are looking for or the list of individual items and quantities they would like to hire. We also need to know the event date of course so that we can check our availability!
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a Vintage China supplier it's really helpful to understand more about the china they offer. Is it mismatch or all matching? is it genuine British vintage china or is there a mix from other countries and using other materials such as ceramic? You may also want to know if they can match your colour scheme if you have a specific event colour scheme in mind. We find this one is particularly important for baby showers!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
After wanting to achieve a vintage theme for my own wedding I spent weeks trawling the shops and antique collectors looking for genuine British vintage china to make my wedding look just right! I then built up my stocks over several years to build the gorgeous collection I have today and want to share with the local community which is when I set up my hire business. I also have a natural interest in making events and tableware look beautiful so it was a natural step for me and I just LOVE an Afternoon Tea!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
One word, fabulous! Add to Event was a breath of fresh air for the supplier market allowing us to reach more customers far and wide and great for putting customers in touch with the right suppliers to make their events extra special. One of my favourites was supplying over 250 vintage tea sets to a major London Theatre, I know, wow. right! We were thrilled to be chosen and it is a real privilege to supply such a high-profile event.
