What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote to a customer I would need to know the time and date of the wedding. The number of passengers, and so that I can calculate the mileage, the pick up location as well as the ceremony and reception addresses. From this, we will be able to put together a comprehensive quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are two things you are hiring from a wedding car hire company one is the car the other is the chauffeur, if there is a problem with either the day can go wrong. Ask if you can see the car, and the driver you will be getting on your wedding day. Ask the chauffeur how experienced he is and if he's been to your venues before. If hiring a convertible car ask if the driver can put the roof up and down without help.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I trained as a mechanic and over 35 years ago I started my own taxi company. Over the years the business went upmarket to executive cars, and about 20 years ago I decided I wanted to also run a wedding car. As I couldn't find a car with the wow factor I used my skills as a mechanic to build the perfect wedding car.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

There have been lots of bookings over the years and I feel lucky to have been a small part of so many happy days. The most romantic gesture I've seen was when the bride was instructed to open a letter on the journey to the church. It was from the groom reminding her how much he loved her and why he so much wanted to marry her. What the groom hadn't anticipated was the emotion everyone in the car felt.
