What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To be able to provide a full and comprehensive quote for our cars and services we would need to know the date of the wedding, a schedule of your planned event (eg, who needs picked up, where, and at what times). We would also need the name and addresses of the passengers, the church, and the venues. It would also be helpful to have an approximate length of time you'd expect to be using our services, With this information we could then build our service with your requirements in mind in order to give the best possible quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before hiring your car, make sure you double check to ensure your provider is insured to carry out wedding car hire (regular car Insurance does not). Wedding Car Insurance also needs to carry Public Liability insurance.
Also, ask your provider if they just do this at weekends etc, as experience tells us if Mr Bloggs with his fancy car wants to earn a few quid on top of his main salary, he is more likely to let you down as it's not a serious business and more than likely is not properly insured as mentioned earlier.
I would also ask for for things like how long have you been operating? How many weddings have you covered this year? Have you a website with reviews? What about a Facebook page with lots of pics? And so on. Finally, I would collate this information all together to build a picture to ensure the service you're after can be covered by an honest, reliable, yet affordable company.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
GSP Wedding Cars started when an existing client (I'm also a Wedding Photographer) who lived on the same street as me saw me pull up outside my house in a new car (S-Type Jaguar). Within 30 minutes of parking up, she knocked on my door and asked if she could use the car for her wedding car. After a conversation or two and the phone call to the insurers etc, we agreed a fair price and the deal was done. Being that I was in the industry already and had been for many years, I was well aware of a gap in the market for luxury cars with an affordable price tag. We put a small advert out on Facebook and within a few days we were already taking bookings. The level of service we offer is fantastic and this in turn built both our reputation and our customer base. It's fair to say in 2016 we covered over 100 weddings and so far up to the end of August 2017 we have covered around 60. This in itself speaks volumes. When we say Quality, Service & Affordability goes hand in hand - we mean it.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have completed 1 Add to Event booking so far. We were hired by a family member to transport the bridesmaids, bride and father of the bride to a favourite church of ours in Barnoldswick (Ghyll Church) before taking them to the White Bull in Gisburn. It was forecast to be a dismal day, however the sun kept breaking through and the only shower was whilst the wedding was in progress and everyone was in the church (we call rain on your wedding day liquid confetti!).
After the wedding and the photos, we offered our happy couple Thomas & Lorna a glass of bubbly in the back of the car, which they weren't expecting on the way to their celebrations. Some couples chat to the drivers, others don't. These two did, and we had a good old laugh along the way to the destination. They even invited me in for a drink!
I am very hopeful Add to Event will send many more happy couples my way, as it was a very pleasant experience altogether
