What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote for wedding transport we need a brief explanation of the services you require including your wedding date, your collection, ceremony and reception addresses and the number of passengers requiring transport. Our standard service is for three hours which is more than enough for most bookings however if you have a special requirement which would extend the length of service, for example, a groom wanting to arrive at his ceremony venue well in advance of the ceremony to greet guests, we also need to be aware of this.

To provide a comprehensive quote for photo booth services we need to know your wedding date, reception address and required hours of service. In the case of our campervan photo booth service in advance of confirming your booking you will need to ensure that there is vehicular access and power to your preferred location for the booth and that the venue has authorized for us to be situated there.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Before booking any service with your wedding we would advise that you check the suppliers online presence and read their reviews, happy clients are a reputable firms best advocates and we are very proud of the feedback we personally receive via Facebook, Google & Trustpilot.
At a minimum a reputable supplier should have their own website and Facebook page, most will also have other social media accounts such as Instagram and Pinterest and these are a great place to see lots of, often candid pictures of the products and services offered.

For wedding transport with a vintage vehicle ask a supplier whether their vehicles have a current MOT. MOT's are not legally required for vintage car's but good practice to have and give you an indication of the level of care the vehicles receive.
Don't be afraid to ask to view the vehicles in the flesh, a reputable supplier will welcome this and arrange an appointment for you to do so.

For photo booths ask whether the supplier has public liability insurance and if so to what value, £5 million should cover most venues though if you are getting married at a stately home or historic monument they may require £10 million.
Check that unlimited photographs and print outs are included with the service as some suppliers have limits. Ask whether the images are made available for you to download after the event and again if this service is included in your fee.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Campervan Wedding Co started out as Vintage Inspired Wedding Hire, we changed our name as of 2019 to better represent VW wedding car and Photo Booth wedding services we offer.

The core Campervan Wedding Co team consists of Steph & Drew, long time admirers of vintage VWs who finally took the plunge and bought one of our own, our lovely Dita, just a year before our own wedding in April 2015.

When we bought our first campervan Dita with romantic notion of renovating her to take a starring role on our special day we had no idea how much work that would involve!

A brand new engine and bespoke upholstered interior were supplied by experts but this left a myriad of jobs to complete before she was ready for her debut. There were times when we thought we weren't going to get there but after more long days and late nights than either of us care to remember Drew and Dita eventually made it home at 5am the morning before our wedding. All this was forgotten the next day though when Dita made it to the church on time and in perfect vintage style. It just wouldn't have been the same without her​​.

​One VW is never enough! So in 2017 lovely Dusty & Dorian joined our fleet, available to hire individually or as a group they are the picture perfect fleet, guaranteed to complete your days style.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

One of our favourite bookings was a combined wedding transport and camper photo booth for Sarah & Jason at lovely Shustoke Farm Barns. A combined service booking is always particularly special as we are able to spend the entire day with our clients and our VWs become an integral part of their special day.
Having our campervan secretly transform from wedding car into photo booth during the wedding breakfast is always a big surprise for the guests, creating a real 'wow' factor.
Sarah & Jason were amazing clients and left us such generous reviews mentioning our service as one of the highlights of their day, nothing makes our day like receiving five star reviews for our clients, it really means the world to know we did a good job.
