What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Apart from date and location, I need to know the type of ceremony you have in mind (wedding, vow renewal, naming etc.). It helps to know a bit about the venue (hotel? outdoors? etc.) and expectations you may have (rituals, religious elements, length of the ceremony?). This information will help me judge the work involved and give an accurate quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Any celebrant worth their salt will be passionate and deliver a dream ceremony. With their experience and expertise, they need to understand that the day is all about you, and will respect your unique vision. They will make the planning process enjoyable and engaging, involving you fully. They take the pressure off you on your big day. They will deliver a fabulous ceremony.
That way, they create and conduct a unique and memorable ceremony just the way you want.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Having never heard of celebrants, I met my first one in 2013. He explained that the job was all about helping people mark their special occasion exactly as they want. There should be freedom of choice. I was smitten! A few weeks later, I was being trained for my new career.
I continue to love making people's big day really special.
