Aglaé Photography is based in Glasgow but will happily shoot any wedding within the UK They specialise in candid photography which means there is no awkward posing and smiling at the camera!

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to suggest which wedding package would suit you best, please provide your wedding date, number of guests, timeline of events and wedding venue if you have already booked one. I offer half and full days so it's pretty straightforward! I specialise in candid photography so please make sure this is the style of photography you are looking for. Raw, relaxed and authentic photographs without any awkward posing/smiling to the camera!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure your wedding photographer is experienced, and that their style suits you. Have a chat on the phone with them, check if they offer free consultations (video or in-person) as the main thing here is to feel comfortable with your photographer! Do not be shy, ask them all the questions that come to mind, this will make for a great chat and you will be reassured that they are a right fit for you! If your wedding photographer doesn't think your wedding is one they'd like to capture from an artistic point of view, they will let you know and direct you to someone else within the industry. We all work differently and not every wedding suits every photographer! I would say it is important to make sure it's a match on both sides.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I'm French and moved to Scotland in 2013 and started photography in 2018. I always knew photography and videography were the paths I wanted to pursue. As a teenager, I would walk around the house as my parents had guests over, camera in hand, and capture pure, candid moments. People dancing and laughing, pets and children playing - everything to me was an opportunity to tell a story as it truly happened. As I grew older and this craft became my career, I made sure to never lose the essence of what makes it unique and beautiful: candidness. Creating truthful, raw, natural photographs that remind people exactly how they felt in that instant as opposed to what they looked like. It's always an honour to be chosen and trusted by a new client as I know how intimate each wedding is - this is a career path I can never take for granted and I feel blessed for doing what I love as a living!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My last booking through Add to Event was absolutely wonderful. The bride and groom were so happy with my photographs and left me a wonderful review. They enquired through Add to Event and booked pretty quickly, paid upfront for their package instead of a deposit and sent me the most wonderful feedback once they received their online gallery.
